Chatham | Cape Cod

A classic cape with rambling additions is reigned in to quiet sophistication

Chatham Residence

Belinda collaborated with former professor, architect and interior designer Robert L. Nevins on this rambling property overlooking Chatham’s Oyster Pond. Additions to the original Cape structure in the 1980s had resulted in a disjointed series of spaces which lacked identity and scale, made more depressing by suburban finishes and decor.

Rooms were redefined through both architecture and custom furniture creations that provided focus for each space, as well as enhancing views over Oyster Pond to the Atlantic and Nantucket Sound. Under-eave spaces received triangulated cabinetry to maximize every possible guest quarter. A clean palette of bright blues and yellows play off the crisp white interiors.
